Markets were awaiting infosys results and the stock rallied by almost 100 rs but the broader markets remained under pressure and negative bias.
We had already said the markets would remain choppy , volatile and undecisive near 5400 levels on the nifty front.
Technically things haven’t changed and the markets looks to be trading in a range with side ways consolidation and movements in stock specific.
On the lower side as long as 5300 is maintained there are hopes of a bounce , on the extreme lower side 5250 and 5190 are major supports for any downfall.
On the upside the nifty will continue to face stiff resistance at 5400- 5450 levels.
Now we are headed into the earning seasons and with the monetary policy due in next week and f/o expiry on head – the markets looks volatile , rangebound and sideways.
From a trading point of view , I would concentrate on select mid caps and trade them happily as gains looks plenty there..
